ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Leslie! I began baking some years ago out of a desire to serve my family homemade breads and treats made with simple ingredients. I homeschooled my children all the way through high school and loved being able to fill their minds and their bellies with good wholesome things. Both homeschooling and baking was not something I had in mind for myself, but they are both things that have challenged me and benefited my family, and I am so thankful for all those wonderful years and memories!

Once I retired from my homeschooling career, I had to find something to keep myself busy. I love learning and being a blessing to others, so The Covered Baker was born! Why that name? My family and friends know that I cover my head when attending church, Bible studies, and prayer groups, and I felt it would be appropriate to cover my hair while baking up some good things for you, too! 😊
